MarilynKelvin: Celebrity Homes: The Manhattan Apartment of Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber

Oscar nominated actress Naomi Watts and her partner, actor Liev Schreiber, purchased a Manhattan duplex to turn into their perfect family home. Then Hurricane Sandy hit, flooding the place and delaying their renovation. Now, several years in, they've completed the renovation and decorating and have shared the finished product with Architectural Digest. It was worth the wait!

Here are some of our favorite parts of their newly renovated and decorated New York City apartment the Naomi and Liev share with their two sons, Alexander and Samuel:

The Kitchen

The first thing you think of when looking at their kitchen is a diner. With the black and white checkered flooring to the bar stool and booth seating you definitely get a fun diner feel right off the bat. We love the mix of light colored cabinets and wood paneled ceiling with the dark glass pained cabinets in between.

The Funky Bar

They have a green lacquered bar off the library. How cool is that? The painting mounted high in the bar is a bold choice but seems to add the decorative touch the small green space needs.

We also love how the following picture shows a glimpse of the library separated by an arch doorway in two colors. They have comfortable looking bench seating on the bottom half with a sliding ladder that lets you reach the books on the top half.

The Guest Room

We are obsessed with how funky the guest room is. It's the perfect mix of patterns and bold prints/colors. The orange wallpaper with the vines looks great up against the black French doors and the colorful floral bedspread and white linens add a bit of freshness to the room that provides balance.

The Master Bath

The master bath is so cool. The double sink reminds us of a public restroom, with the exposed pipes and black dot tiles. The bathtub is the best – it looks like the perfect deep tub to soak in for a relaxing bath. The brass light fixtures and coordinating framed wood mirror and chair add a level of sophistication that goes great with the black and white in the rest of the bathroom.
