The Historic Doylestown Inn and Hattery

We would like to welcome The Doylestown Inn and The Hattery Stove & Still to our blog.

If you live in or have visited our town of Doylestown, we are sure you have stopped to admire this beautiful landmark. The building housing the Inn and Restaurant was originally constructed in 1871 with another building being added in 1937. Throughout its lifespan the landmark property has housed a hattery, a cigar shop, a shoe store, a restaurant, and even operated as a speakeasy during prohibition. The building is now home to a charming 11 guest room boutique hotel and a cutting-edge restaurant and bar with an “antique industrial” design that offers a modern-American tavern menu- brunch, lunch, dinner, and a late night menu - seven days a week. The restaurant boasts innovative designs and a wealth of vintage treasures that pay homage to the property’s rich history.

Guest Post by Claudine Piechotta, Event Manager at The Historic Doylestown Inn and Hattery

While most of us are celebrating the new found freedoms of summer, with our favorite flip flops, beach hat and sunscreen, many anxious and excited couples right here in Bucks County are planning their BIG day!

Here at The Historic Doylestown Inn and Hattery we take romance seriously. With the honeymoon suite prepared, champagne on ice and cake delivered, we embrace the love the air. You can feel the excitement like bubbles rising in a champagne glass.

From bridal showers to rehearsal dinners and even boutique weddings, the Doylestown Inn has seen romance bloom here again and again.

Our guests relish in the “speakeasy” ambiance of our newly renovated downstairs bar/restaurant along with the quaint sophistication of our private banquet room.

As an event manager, I have the unique pleasure of joining these couples for a portion of their journey to marriage and sometimes I have the sweet satisfaction of planning celebrations for couples that stand the test of time, toasting each other for the 40thor 50th year of love.

It’s no wonder couples find their way here to the Doylestown Inn which combines the best of an historic landmark hallowed with famous guests from generations past with quaint small town luxury and cutting edge food.

Next time we will share a recipe that you won’t want to miss, courtesy of Executive Chef Billy Gilbo.
